We are seeking a skilled and experienced Linux System Administrator with a strong technical background in building, deploying, and managing Linux server environments, virtualization platforms, and web application hosting, along with proficiency in configuration management tools.
Main Responsibilities
Linux Server Environment Management:
- Build, deploy, and manage Linux server environments (Ubuntu, RedHat Enterprise Linux and Oracle Linux.)
- Ensure the stability, security, and optimal performance of Linux-based systems.
- Maintain best practices for Linux server administration and maintenance.
Virtualization Platform Management:
- Operate Hyper-V virtualization platform
- Monitor virtualized environments to ensure resource optimization and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to virtualization platforms.
Web Services Hosting:
- Deploy and maintain web services (Haproxy and Apache web server)
- Ensure high availability and performance of web services hosted on Linux servers.
- Maintain security measures to protect services from potential threats.
Configuration Management:
- Utilise configuration management tools such as Ansible to automate system configuration and deployment processes.
- Maintain configuration management best practices.
- Monitor system configurations to ensure consistency and compliance using tools such as checkmk
Skills and Experience
- Proven work experience as a Linux System Administrator or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in building, deploying, and managing Linux server environments, virtualization platforms, and web application hosting.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible and Checkmk.
- Strong understanding of system security principles and best practices.
- Experience in system monitoring and performance tuning.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
