A new role for a new clinet who are a very successful construction firm in the Southeast of England. As one of the firms QSs you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of new build, remedial, refurbishment and exterior building projects.

Job Summary:

Our client is a multi-award-winning, facade and building envelope specialist, as a Principal Contractor they plan, manage, monitor, and coordinate projects, operating in London and Southeast England. Also delivering special projects in investigation, maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, and remedial works to existing buildings.

Role:

Reporting to the Commercial Director and supporting the wider team in managing multi-million pounds projects across all divisions and workstreams throughout the business. You will be expected to visit construction sites in various locations across the South and further afield on occasions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts.
  • Contribute to ensuring that the business targets are exceeded.
  • Prepare valuations for interim applications for payment.
  • Preparing subcontract enquiry documentation, valuations, and interim payments.
  • Evaluation of subcontract tenders.
  • Prepare final accounts and contra-charges.
  • Setting up and maintaining contract files.
  • Provide support to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and SMT
  • Preparation of monthly cost / value reports for area, together with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members
  • Produce commercial reports with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members.
  • Physical measurement of works and agreement of same with client and subcontractors
  • Agreement of certification and payment of subcontractor accounts – monitoring of such accounts against forecasts

Experience

  •  A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Experience preferably working in one or more of the following:
    • Main contractor
    • Façade sector
    • Building remediation
  • A degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying (desirable but not essential.)
