Senior Data Analyst – PL/SQL

Our client is a leading B2B information provider in the maritime sector whose aim is to inspire, transforms data, information and expertise into actionable analytics, insight and perspective that create value for customers.

Role Purpose:

This role will be part of a team that is responsible for delivering bespoke data sets to customers as well as driving continual enhancements to our data quality to improve our customer experience and support revenue growth.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all incoming data requests are properly evaluated, prepared, and delivered in a timely and accurate fashion.

You will also be exploring ways to improve our internal data delivery processes, data cleaning and data quality. Close collaboration with our in-house and external data teams will be crucial.

Most importantly is a passion for large scale data management, data delivery and a desire to exceed customer expectations

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure incoming data requests are properly evaluated, prepared, and delivered in a timely and accurate fashion.
• Explore ways to improve our internal data delivery processes, data cleaning and data quality.
• Query complex data structures and manipulate data tables to fit bespoke client requests.
• Ensure that defined SLAs are met.
• Collaborate with our data teams to implement efficient and automated quality control processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Thorough understanding of relational databases, Oracle and/or Postgres experience.
• Demonstrable experience of using PL-SQL and Python to interrogate and extract large data sets.
• Experience of developing for and using REST APIs is highly desirable.
• A detailed understanding of ETL processes.
• Understanding and practical use of AWS would be advantageous.
• Key attention to detail and proven experience of structuring flat data into insightful end products.
